Lev Women’s Leadership Circle

In the spring of 2024, we launched JCC’s Lev Women’s Leadership Circle. Our mission is to bring together women who care deeply about creating joyful connections through our JCC Greater Boston community.

Together we discuss and address issues that center around questions that matter to all of us: education, health and wellness, community building, parenthood at all stages, and so much more. Our model is one where every woman’s voice is heard, and our collaboration enables transformation and deepens belonging.

Lev is the Hebrew word for center and for heart. We chose it to represent our Women’s Circle, as the JCC sits at the center of the Jewish community. We hope that our Circle will offer a heart-centered approach to building connection and meaning for participants and the broader community. Our purpose is to use women’s leadership to build and maintain Jewish and Jewish-adjacent community.

In the fall of 2024, we are excited to host an exclusive evening with Maud Mandel, President of Williams College for the Lev Women’s Circle. President Mandel is the first female President of Williams College. Maud S. Mandel, Williams’ 18th president, earned her B.A. from Oberlin College in 1989 and her master’s degree and Ph.D. in history from the University of Michigan in 1993 and 1998, respectively. Following her arrival, President Mandel launched a collaborative strategic planning process involving faculty, staff, students, alumni, families and friends.

We are planning a social action and direct service activity where we will put together care packages for Israel. A key focus of JCCGB‘s Lev Circle is coming together to give back. We will be packing boxes of items and writing letters to be delivered to people in need in Israel. JCC Greater Boston is thrilled to be able to facilitate such a meaningful opportunity for women to volunteer their time to gather and give back.
