At our JCC Early Learning Centers, we believe in the power of child-centered learning with a Jewish foundation.

Our curriculum focuses on understanding each child’s unique needs and co-creating learning experiences with them. We build a vibrant classroom community and foster strong partnerships with parents for success inside and outside the classroom.

Godine

The Godine Early Learning Center provides a nurturing and engaging environment for children aged 6 weeks to 5 years. With a curriculum that blends child-centered learning and Jewish culture, the center offers programs for infants, toddlers, preschool, and pre-K. Our location features a state-of-the-art natural playspace and offers various enrichment activities to broaden your child’s horizons!

Gilson

Our location in Sharon boasts a state-of-the-art natural playground, featuring a working garden, a huge sand play area, large grassy areas for outdoor actives, an abundance of nature, and more — all of which encourage children to engage with nature and discover new things.

Hingham, MA

Hingham

Our Hingham location is proud to be recognized as a nationally certified Nature Explore® Outdoor Classroom, designed to provide developmentally appropriate play spaces for toddlers and preschool-age children. Your child will have opportunities to explore their surroundings, engage with other children and with nature, as well as learn through hands-on experiences in a safe and stimulating environment.

Indira Herscovici

Assistant Vice President, Early Childhood Education

Indira has an extensive background in early childhood. She joined the Brookline/Brighton JCC Early Learning Center in 1997, and assumed the role of supervising director in 2011, where she was responsible for program quality and content across all JCC Early Learning Center locations. In 2014, she was appointed director of early learning center operations, and now serves as assistant vice president of early childhood education at JCC Greater Boston.

Indira actively participates in the Greater Boston Director’s Council of Early Childhood Jewish Educators and is a member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in early childhood education from Lesley University. Her knowledge, experience, and dedication make her an invaluable asset to JCC Greater Boston’s early learning centers.

Caitlin Sullivan-Fieldman

Co-Director (Infants & Toddlers), Godine JCC Early Learning Center

Caitlin is an accomplished and highly qualified early childhood educator at the Godine JCC Early Learning Center, where she oversees the infant and toddler programs. With over ten years of experience in a diverse set of early childhood settings prior to her arrival at the JCC in 2016, Caitlin brings expertise from progressive, Jewish, Montessori, hospital, and Swedish classroom settings. She has served as an early intervention specialist, and was the recipient of an Excellence in Teaching Recognition award in 2010.

Caitlin’s education includes a bachelor’s in human development from Cornell, a master’s in early childhood and special education from Bank Street College of Education, and a post-graduate certificate in infant-parent mental health from UMass Boston.

Malgosha Szlempo

Co-Director (Preschool), Godine JCC Early Learning Center

Malgosha is a seasoned professional with over 30 years of experience in early childhood education and child psychology prior to her arrival at the JCC in 2011. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and expertise from her diverse background, including her experience as a child psychologist in Poland, and as the director of Yal-Day-New Day Care in Brighton.

At the JCC, Malgosha supervises educators in the three and four-year-old classrooms, ensures compliance with Early Education and Care (EEC) regulations, and plays a crucial role in maintaining optimal teacher-to-student ratios in each classroom. Her background includes a master’s in psychology from the University of Wrocław, and certification as a National Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Massachusetts.

Lauren Jonas

Co-Director, Gilson JCC Early Learning Center

Lauren has been with JCC Greater Boston since 1998, starting as an after-school group leader and eventually co-director of our Gilson JCC Early Learning Center. She has experience in planning and implementing after-school and vacation programs, and has taught toddlers, preschoolers, and transitional kindergarten students. She emphasizes play-based learning, a social thinking curriculum, and building community, to create a warm and welcoming environment that promotes Jewish values, spirit, and a love of learning.

Lauren holds a bachelor’s from the University of Massachusetts and is passionate about helping children reach their full potential.

Lisa Ciborowski

Co-Director, Gilson JCC Early Learning Center / Child Development Specialist

Lisa has been with JCC Greater Boston since the early nineties, dedicating 15 of those years as a transitional kindergarten teacher. In June 2015, she assumed the role of co-director at the Gilson JCC Early Learning Center in Sharon. Additionally, she has served as our child development specialist for 15 years, providing support to children with physical, emotional, or developmental challenges and advocating for parents by connecting them with available community resources.

Lisa’s primary focus is creating a warm and enriching learning environment for children and their families. She holds a bachelor’s in special education from Boston College.

Brittany Proctor

Assistant Director, Hingham JCC Early Learning Center

Brittany joined the leadership team at the Hingham JCC Early Learning Center in 2019, bringing a strong background in child and adolescent psychology from Southern New Hampshire University and extensive experience as a lead toddler teacher at the South Shore YMCA Early Learning Center. Her deep understanding of child development informs her approach, recognizing that the early childhood stage is a crucial time for laying the foundation of a child’s future learning and development. Brittany is dedicated to creating a nurturing and stimulating environment that takes advantage of this critical period when children are most receptive to new experiences, ideas, and information.
