JCC Member/Visitor & Participant COVID-19 Code of Conduct
Last Changed March 10, 2022
Our code of conduct policy is designed to create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for all. It is a rare occurrence that a member or visitor may be in violation of our policies.
This code of conduct applies to:
- Any visitor of the Leventhal-Sidman JCC, including JCC members.
- Any participant in a JCC Greater Boston class, event, or program, either at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC, at another JCC Greater Boston site, or at a JCC Greater Boston program space.
- These individuals will henceforth be referred to as visitors and participants.
In addition to the policies outlined below, the above-mentioned individuals must follow any applicable screening, distancing, PPE, hygiene, and cleaning guidelines expected at their given class, event, or program.
This code of conduct does not apply to:
- JCC Greater Boston staff members.
- Children enrolled in our JCC Early Learning Centers
Staff members and students have their own codes of conduct.
Help Us Keep Our Facilities Healthy
- Do not visit or participate if you are feeling ill with COVID-19 related symptoms or have recently tested positive for COVID-19.
- If you begin to feel ill or exhibit symptoms while visiting or participating, please return home.
- If you have been exposed to COVID-19 and are not up to date on your vaccinations, you must follow MA quarantine guidelines before visiting or participating.
- If you are vaccinated and have been exposed through close contact, we encourage you to wait until day five after exposure before considering visiting or participating, and to first take a COVID-19 test. This will help ensure that you do not have an asymptomatic breakthrough case.
- If you are COVID-19 positive and have visited or participated during the infectious period of your illness, please alert a staff member or program leader. This will help ensure that we may take appropriate measures and perform any necessary contact tracing to keep our community safe.
Help Us Maintain Social Distance
- Continue to be thoughtful about physical distancing, when appropriate.
- At the Leventhal-Sidman JCC, when applicable, only use equipment and/or spaces marked “open.” Please be respectful of spaces and/or equipment marked “closed.”
Wear Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- We recommend that individuals who are not up to date on their vaccinations wear a face covering.
- Masks are not required, but we remain a mask friendly organization.
Help Us Maintain Good Hygiene
- Wash your hands, often, with soap and water, for at least 20 seconds.
- If you cannot wash your hands, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol. Sanitizing stations are available around the Leventhal-Sidman JCC for your convenience.
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Please leave personal fitness equipment at home, unless required to bring for a specific class.
- Please bring your own water bottle.
Help Us Stay Clean, Safe, and Healthy
- Wipe fitness equipment at the Leventhal-Sidman JCC thoroughly, after use, with the provided sanitizing wipes.
- Inform a staff member or program lead of any cleaning or COVID-19 concerns.
- Remain respectful to all those around you, and follow staff directions, if provided.
- Stay apprised of any new JCC Greater Boston expectations that may be shared as CDC and/or state requirements change.
- Updates will be shared on our website, via email, and on signage, where applicable.
- Stay informed about how COVID-19 spreads and what can be done to do to prevent it.
Policy Violations
We will always do our best to work with members or visitors who are struggling to uphold safety protocols. However, it is our ultimate responsibility to provide a healthy and safe environment for the community as a whole. In the event of policy violations, we will implement the following system:
- First violation: verbal reminder of policy, noting violation. This will be recorded in our records.
- Second violation: written reminder of policy. This will be recorded in our records.
- Third violation: suspension or termination of membership/visitor privileges.
