Discover how genetics can affect you and your family with jscreen®. JCC Greater Boston in collaboration with jscreen will be hosting two information sessions:
• On Sunday, February 9 from 9am–12pm, stop by the table in the lobby to speak to a jscreen team expert. Learn about the history of Jewish genetic screening, how to find out the hereditary risk for cancer and risk of unknowingly passing on a genetic disease to one's children (i.e. BRCA and Tay-Sachs), and how genetic testing can help you be proactive about your health and the health of your family members.
• On February 10 from 9am–12pm, join us for an informal gathering in the Teen Lounge to hear firsthand how genetic testing can provide the information you need for a healthy future. (Snacks and giveaways will be available!)
Both events are FREE and open to JCC members; no registration is required.
**Jewish Genetic Screening Awareness Week (JGSAW) is honored from February 3–February 7. JCC Greater Boston is pleased to partner with jscreen to help drive awareness about the importance of genetic testing and share resources with the Jewish community.
