This monthly book group, led by staff at Hummingbird Books, will feature a variety of genres guaranteed to spark lively conversation and connection. If you don’t have a chance to finish the book, that’s okay, come anyway! Books can be purchased at Hummingbird Books in Chestnut Hill (or over the phone a 617-487-5101), an independent, local female-owned and operated store with an extensive collection of adult and children’s books. April book: Mothers and Sons by Adam Haslett In this novel about family, forgiveness, and how a fleeting act of violence can change a life forever, a mother and son, estranged for years, must grapple with the shared secret that drove their lives apart. This book is beautifully written and teaches us that in order to move on from the past, we must face it.
